Recognizing that farmers markets are both an essential food source for customers, and an essential income source for local farmers and vendors, the Sedalia Area Farmers’ Market will open during 2020 as a drive-thru market in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this new format designed for maximum safety, you can still expect to find the foods you’ve come to know and love. Normally we want you to linger, but now we want you to be able to quickly get in and get out. Read on for how-to!
How To Shop the SAFM Drive-Thru Market

If you have not pre-ordered/pre-paid, enter the market via the Historic Old Main Gate on 16th Street. (See maps below.) Follow the signage. Please be patient and kind!
Payment Methods Accepted:
Vendors will accept cash and/or cards. (Please bring small bills only.)
SNAP/EBT customers may still get tokens from Market tent.
No coupons accepted at this time.
We encourage pre-ordering. (See how-to below!)
The market will offer food items only, with limited exceptions.
If you are sick, please stay home and ask a friend or family member to pick things up for you instead.
We encourage all vendors and customers to wear masks, per the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control.
We apologize, but no public restrooms or drinking water will be available.
At this time, we are not accepting used containers (jars, egg & produce cartons, etc.).
How To Pre-Order and Pre-Pay
The list of vendors that accept pre-orders/pre-payment is below. It is organized like a grocery store: produce, meats/eggs, baked goods, prepared meal items. CHECK BACK OFTEN as the list will be updated frequently.
Contact vendors through their specified Pre-Order instructions. You will need to place a separate order with each vendor you wish to purchase items from.
SNAP/EBT customers can pay SAFM staff at pick-up time. (Instructions below.)
Create a list of each vendor (Business Name) and the items you have ordered from them to bring with you on pick-up day.
If you have not pre-paid, have exact money ready in baggies (your name and vendor name and dollar amount MUST be on baggie) for vendors accepting cash only or check.(NO CHANGE WILL BE MADE FROM PRE-ORDER LOT). Market runner will deliver payment to each vendor.
How To Pick Up Your Pre-Order
Bonus points: Please have your name clearly written (Last/First) and your phone number for SAFM market runners to view upon arrival.
For “Pre-Order/Pre-Pay” ONLY: enter the fairgrounds through Gate 3 (first gate west of the Old Historic Main Gate) on 16th Street. Pull into the upper Handicap Parking Lot and park in the first open space. Market runners will be looking for you.
Stay in your vehicle…please!
A market runner will approach your car. (It may take a bit if the runners are helping other customers.) The runners likely will be our three interns and two are new to our market so welcome them with love and patience as they learn.
Tell the runner your last name, first name, and telephone number (that you used to place your order), and the names of the vendors you ordered from. If you are a SNAP/EBT customer give the runner, (very carefully) your card and tell them your PIN so they can run your card at the market tent. They will bring you your card and receipt. The runners will then go collect your orders.
Direct runners as to where you’d like your groceries placed in your car. (Pop your trunk or have back window open).
Safely exit the parking lot and take a right (watch for car traffic) to 16th St to head EAST or a left to exit through the fairgrounds to Clarendon Road to head WEST.
