Opening Day of Our Inaugural Season!

Posted by sedaliaareafarmersmarket on May 1, 2009 at 12:25 PM

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 2nd is our inaugural season opening day! The excitement is palpable, despite the cool weather and rain that have no doubt slowed the progress of local crops. All that rain will pay off eventually!

We are dedicating the opening of the market to our beloved Mayor Bob Wasson, who passed away last week. He cultivated an environment that made the Sedalia Area Farmers' Market possible. To life well lived! Elle and the entire Wasson family are in our prayers and thoughts.

Our farmers are bringing spring greens, honey, blackberries (hurry--those won't last long!), tomatoes, cucumbers, bedding plants, and more.

Mark Albright and State Fair Community College students have been working between rains to beautify the site, and wow!

Look forward to seeing you at the market!
